Ingredients
- 450 g ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 200 g uncooked pasta (penne, rotini, or elbow)
- 480 ml beef broth
- 425 g tomato sauce
- 15 ml Worcestershire sauce
- 15 ml mustard
- 15 ml ketchup
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 200 g shredded cheddar cheese
- 240 ml heavy cream
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking up the meat with a spoon. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 3 to 4 minutes until the onion is soft and translucent.
- Stir in uncooked pasta, beef broth, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, ketchup, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta absorbs most of the liquid and is just tender.
- Fold in heavy cream and shredded cheddar cheese. Stir over low heat until cheese melts and mixture is creamy, about 2 to 3 minutes.
- Remove from heat. Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
For added flavor, consider incorporating diced bell peppers or jalapeños when sautéing. This dish can be made with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
